***Description***
Project Read is a program through Hutchinson Elementary where my partner and I go once a week and discuss a book with several students. We give them a set amount of chapters to read and then the following week, we bring worksheets with discussion questions to gauge their comprehension of the book we are currently reading. Each week we lead the group of students and have been given free reign on how we want to teach the kids and test their comprehension skills. I am collaborating with a partner in this effort and have had great success in that aspect. I am currently engaging in this experience to both get the grasp of how to teach a small group of kids as well as help them gain comprehension skills at a young age.
***Rationale***
This artifact shows that I actively seek leadership roles and opportunities in an educational setting. I collaborate with my peers regularly and work with them to create learning experiences and opportunities for students with their success in mind.
