## ***Disposition Reflection***
***4a. Reflecting on Teaching***
The teacher utilizes self-reflection and input from the educational community to assess teaching effectiveness in order to inform future practice.
***InTASC Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice***
The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner.
***Description***
At the start of my second year at Pitt Greensburg I finished the “Disposition Reflection,” a reflective paper. This paper examines my growth in multiple teaching dispositions such as legal/ethical conduct and attendance as well as professional appearance and reliability in conjunction with interactions with others and fairness. I evaluate each teaching area by assigning ratings and then give specific reflections that show my strengths and improvement opportunities. Through structured reflection I used this method to review my teaching methods and establish concrete changes that will improve my effectiveness as an educator.
***Rationale***
I chose this paper because it shows my dedication to improving my teaching and my ongoing learning in the teaching field. I use evidence from my past experiences to assess myself and reflect on my strengths and my weaknesses so that I may grow from them. This artifact shows each experience in the field shapes my understanding of teaching and evaluates myself so that I may improve myself as I move into my 3rd year where there will be more and more opportunities to work in the field.
