***Description***
This is a lesson plan I wrote in my 2nd year at Pitt Greensburg. The lesson plan is focused on the topic of character traits. It would be the first lesson plan for my unit on literary skills. The lesson plan details many aspects like standards, content covered, and the instructional methods needed to accurately teach the concept of character traits. The lesson plan incorporates a variety of instructional methods from guided instruction using a PowerPoint, an activity worksheet, and one on one/group work.
***Rationale***
This lesson plan supports a variety of different instructional methods throughout such as direct instruction, group discussion, and independent practice. By incorporating various teaching methods, the lesson ensures all student’s needs would be met and ensures an engaging and coherent learning experience for all students in the classroom. This lesson is designed with the understanding that all students learn differently whether it be cognitively, linguistically, socially, emotionally, or physically.
